Youth Book Reviews

Do you have some volunteer hours you need to fill? Do you love to read? If you answered yes to either of those questions, then we have an opportunity for you!

Youth Book Reviews!

How it works:

1. Sign out a book from your school or local public library, or read a book you have at home.

2. Complete this online form, with your name (only your first name or a preferred pseudonym/nickname will be added to the website), age, school, title/author, number of stars you'd rate the book, and a review of the book. Reviews must be between 2 and 4 paragraphs long, including a brief summary of the book, and what you liked/disliked about it. Consider questions like “why did you choose this book?”, “did the book surprise you, or was it predictable?”, “could you relate to any of the characters in the book?” etc.

- If you are unable to submit your review online, you can submit a paper copy to the library. Make sure you include your name, age, school, book title, author, how many stars out of 5, your review of the book, a nickname/pseudonym if you would prefer to have that listed on the website.

3. Watch the website (below) to see your review go live. Depending on your school's requirements, you may receive 1 hour's volunteer time for each book review. Contact the library if or when you need a letter confirming your volunteer hour(s).

Thanks for sharing your love of reading with others!
