Library Services |
Interlibrary
loans: if a book or subject you are interested in is
not available at the Sylvan Lake Municipal Library, we will
make every effort to borrow it from another library. |

Reference
service: library staff are available to help answer
your questions. The library also has a collection of
encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, atlases, almanacs,
medical resources, and local histories for use by the public. |

Large
print books: large print format books in a variety
of genres are available. |
|
|
Bethany Care Centre and Sylvan Lake Senior's Lodge
outreach: Library staff regularly visit the Sylvan
Lake Seniors Lodge to deliver books. |
|
|
Outreach Services:
Offered to homebound patrons. The Library will arrange for volunteers
to visit. |
|
|
Foreign
language book service: a small collection of French
and German books are available in the Library. Requests for
books in other languages are welcome. |
|
|
Canadian
Institute for the Blind: searching of CNIB resources
for the visually impaired is available by request. |
|
|
Internet
access: high speed Internet access is available free
of charge. |
|
Word processing
access: Microsoft Office software is available. Computer
print outs are $0.25 cents a sheet. |
|
|
Exam
invigilation: if you are a distance learner, we can
invigilate (or supervise) exams for you. |
|
|
Photocopying: $0.25 cents a
page |
|
|
Faxing: $1.00 per page
for local faxes; $2.00 per page long distance within Canada; $10.00 per page
outside of Canada |

|
Audiobooks:
a growing collection of audiobooks, or "books on
tape" is available. Both children's and adult titles are
available, and are great for commuting, working out, and
family trips. |

|
Meeting &
program room rentals: a 35 person program room
and 12 person meeting room are available to rent for
meetings, classes and special events. |
